The Coronado Retreat was designed for homeowners seeking a refined coastal home that felt calm, architectural, and deeply livable. They wanted a space that embraced natural light and modern lines while still feeling warm, layered, and intimate.

The opportunity was to move beyond expected beach house tropes and create something more elevated. A retreat that felt restorative rather than decorative.

The Shift
Rather than leaning into overt coastal motifs, we focused on materiality, proportion, and restraint.

Soft neutrals, warm woods, sculptural lighting, and rhythmic millwork became the foundation. The design balances clean architectural structure with organic texture, creating a home that feels both composed and welcoming.

How the Space Unfolds
1 The primary bedroom anchors the home with a symmetrical composition, layered neutrals, and warm brass accents that create a sense of calm authority.

2 The primary bath pairs gridded tile with walnut cabinetry and sculptural globe lighting, blending precision with softness.

3 In the living space, custom millwork introduces architectural rhythm while woven textures and light upholstery maintain approachability.

4 The dining area balances sculptural lighting with curved seating and organic materials, encouraging intimate gathering.

5 Secondary baths introduce tonal tile moments, adding depth and character while remaining cohesive within the overall palette.
